Dimming the lights in the Parliament

The Scottish Parliament is trying to lead the way for public buildings cutting energy consumption by giving us all a telling off if we leave our computers on overnight. Quite right and seeing as I always make an effort to switch everything off (including my straighteners - just kidding) I was annoyed with myself to get an email from the IT helpdesk telling me I'd forgotten one night. So I hope it does work. Nice as it looks though I think they're going to have to go further and stop keeping lights on at night. Aileen sent out parly Christmas cards and got an email from one recipient telling her how environmentally unfriendly it was to have cards showing an image similar to the one in the picture here - with ALL the lights on! She had a point. Still, it's good to see them making a start somewhere.
