The X Factor Final

Watching the final of the X Factor tonight. 'Tis sad but true when I tell you I was quite relieved when Julie & Jamie's ceiling caved in and they had to cancel their Christmas party tonight. Just kidding J&J. You know what's really getting on my nerves about the X Factor though? There are 3 folk in the final and each judge is pushing them based on their nationality:

"vote for Leon because he's Scottish"

"C'mon England vote for Same Difference"

"If you're Welsh, don't let Rhydian down"

I find it really irritating and patronising. If I wanted to waste my money voting I'd be voting for who I thought was the best, not who came from the same country as me. It's utterly ridiculous and people fall for it. Simon Cowell has just criticised Leon (understandably) and Louis' response is "Scotland can stop you Simon Cowell, c'mon Scotland". They're treating us like sheep.

For the record, Nikki was my favourite (English) but seeing as she's gone I think Rhydian (Welsh) should win. Same Diff (English) make me feel nervous, Leon (Scottish) seems like a lovely guy but he can't hold a note and is wooden physically as well as musically. So let's not get carried away with someone's nationality - after all, who in their right mind would vote for Gordon Brown simply because he's (allegedly) Scottish? I think I can rest my case ...

Rhydian has just sung O Holy Night, one of my all time favourite songs - picking up that phone is very tempting!
